# Parental Leave

If you're going to have a baby, congrats! :)

We've got a parental leave policy that exceeds the labour law standards in Cambodia, which can be found at: <https://prake.org/labour-law/maternity-and-work/maternity-regulations-1>

Our policy:

* Inform management at least 3 months before the child is born
* If you've been with Mäd for more than a year, you're entitled to 90 calendar days of parental leave with 100% of salary.
* If you've been with Mäd for less than a year, you're entitled to 90 calendar days of parental leave with 50% of salary.
* You can take up to an additional 90 calendar days of unpaid leave, for a total of 180 days of leave.
* If you need take more than 180 days, this will be reviewed on a case to case basis. The likely scenario is that you'll be asked to resign from your position after 180 days of leave, and that we will try our best to bring you back in when you're ready.

However, pls note that any maternity coverage is \*not\* included in our insurance policy. Further details in our [Insurance](https://howto.workwithmad.com/~/edit/drafts/-LMLBj-SZySAgCIBD9Qb/people-operations/benefits#insurance) section.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://process.mad.co/operations/people-operations/parental-leave.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
